Antique handstitched blanket from Rajasthan, India. Originally intended to adorn a majestic Hindu Brahmin bull, this blanket would have been draped over the bull's back. It has a triangular insert (visible in the photo) which would have fitted neatly over the bull's hump.
It is embroidered is pale browns, golds and yellows and is finished off with a robust border.
Fabulous as a wall hanging or throw.
